Ernie grew up on Waiheke Island, completing his secondary education boarding at King's College before moving to Dunedin to complete a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor Laws degree at the University of Otago. He joined McVeagh Fleming as a Law Clerk in 2021 and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court in 2022.
Ernie is based in the Manukau Office and works closely with Partner, Daniel Kenyon, on a broad range of residential and commercial issues.

Ernie is an avid rugby follower and having grown up by the ocean tries to spend as much time as possible in and around the sea, either out fishing or at the beach.
